World Hearing Day 2025 Theme: “Changing Mindsets: Empower Yourself! Make Ear & Hearing Care a Reality for All!”
As part of World Hearing Day 2025, an ear health screening camp was conducted in Edappadi for women workers in spinning mills, in collaboration with WHO and the World Hearing Forum. This initiative aligned with the global theme, emphasizing the need to change mindsets and empower individuals to prioritize ear and hearing care. A government medical team screened 56 women, identifying 10 with hearing difficulties, who were referred for further treatment. To raise awareness, 10 educational camps were held from March 3rd to 15th, benefiting 780 women workers. We aim to reach 1500 women workers by 31st march 2025. Additionally, a Facebook and WhatsApp campaign was launched to educate the public on ear health and workplace noise protection. Advocacy efforts with government officials and employers focused on implementing safety standards to protect workers from occupational hearing risks. This initiative reinforces the importance of hearing care and workplace safety for women in the textile industry.
